Fascia is the head-to-toe, fingertip to fingertip “web-like” connective tissue that runs throughout your entire body. It’s in every inch of your body, even your eye sockets! It’s a connective tissue that supports and holds together your muscles, organs and soft tissues.

You are about 70 trillion cells – neurons, muscle cells, epithelia – all humming in relative harmony; fascia is the 3-D spider web of fibrous, gluey, and wet proteins that binds it all together in their proper placement.

Think of fascia as plastic wrap that holds all of your “pieces” in place – like muscle fibers, organs and soft tissues. Healthy fascia is thin, smooth and hydrated – so like thin and smooth plastic wrap that would hold a smooth shape and stay in good alignment. Unhealthy fascia is thick and causes restrictions. Fascia restrictions can lead to muscle tightness, low blood flow and compression of nerves.

So healthy fascia = high performance. Unhealthy fascia = bad performance.

Nutrition, exercise, good posture, stress management are all important to overall good health. But treating your fascia takes it to the next level by treating strained areas where fascia needs specific work. Through overall body care AND regular fascia care, this can improve your daily and athletic performance.

Why We Created Fit Fascia Solutions

Fit Fascia Solutions was created as a response to the countless requests for small group training and education in the area of myofascial self-treatment. There are videos all over the internet showing how to use myofascial release tools. So why would there be a need for a class?  Well, the answer is simple.

Everyone is different, both in their specific needs and how they learn.

Individual clients have raved about the personalized teaching they have received with us and more and more women and athletes are coming to find that they want an “easy to digest” version of what to do and when to do it. And they want it NOW! So we responded.

Fit Fascia Solutions has developed a curriculum and has partnered with other physical therapists, licensed practitioners and educators to bring hands-on training to the public in your area.

Whether you are looking for a personalized training class or would prefer one-on-one training, Fit Fascia Solutions can offer you a solution to restore your fascial health!

Kathleen is a physical therapist in private practice with 30 years of experience working on people who want to feel better and move better. Known for her neurosensory approach to the body and the treatment of disequilibrium, she recognizes the interconnectedness of the body and the mind, as well as the impact that human experience has on wellness. Her infatuation with fascia began 20 years ago when teaching PT students and taking advanced training in stretching, soft-tissue mobilization, Feldenkrais, and cranio-sacral therapies.  She believes our body desires to be in homeostasis–maximizing efficiencies with strength, length, relaxation, and coordination; producing movement that is pain-free, graceful, and enjoyable.  She enjoys teaching others how to take their health into their own hands with self-treatment approaches in fascial fitness.

Jenea has been a massage therapist for 20 years. As a massage therapy instructor with the state of Texas, she enjoys helping people learn how to better maintain their body health.
